ABOUT HEART

The HEART/NSTA Trust, formerly the HEART Trust/NTA, was established in 1982 in response to the persistent problems of unemployment, a shortage of skilled workers, and the loss of productive middle-class citizens from Jamaica. The Trust was created to address these challenges by providing technical and vocational training to individuals, creating employment opportunities for trainees, helping people find jobs in Jamaica, and financially supporting those who needed help starting their businesses after training.

In 2019, the Trust merged with the: Apprenticeship Board, National Youth Service (NYS), and the Jamaican Foundation for Lifelong Learning (JFLL). Since its inception, the Trust has been and continues to be a driving force behind Jamaica’s economic and social development, improving human capital and productivity across the country.
